The Gold Chao in the Dreamcast games is a much brighter yellow than its modern game counterpart, and a Dreamcast exclusive Bronze Chao exists, which appears similar to the modern era Gold Chao. The Dreamcast games, Sonic Adventure and Sonic Adventure 2, do not have certain varieties of Jewel Chao, while also containing some which do not appear in the later games, along with having some differences in appearances. Jewel Chao typically come in the following 11 varieties: Gold, Silver, Amethyst, Topaz, Ruby, Garnet, Peridot, Onyx, Aquamarine, Emerald, and Sapphire.
